Before you start your course, we'd like to give you a few tips to make sure you'll be using all the features PetraLingua has to offer – rather than leaving it up to the kids to find their way through the program:

PetraLingua was originally developed for classroms, based on an early language learning curriculum with 2-3 learning sessions per week – and lesson.
We want to encourage this kind of step-by-step learning to ensure vocabulary retention.
1) Start by watching the video lessons (sections 1 and 2 in all the lessons)
The first video will introduce the new vocabulary, and the revision version gives you enough time to repeat the words after the narrator. It's important not to skip this part.

2) Repeat the words that have been introduced with flashcards, toys or other real objects around you
This will be a welcome break from screen time and automated content, allowing you to take an active part in the learning process.
Write the words down or do a quick picture-word matching exercise.

3) Listen to the song and sing along the instrumental version – sections 3 and 4 in lessons that have songs
(Greetings; What's This?; School Things; Colors; Toys; Body Parts; Clothing; Breakfast; Fruits and Vegetables; Vehicles; Days of the Week)
4) Do the interactive exercises – only a few or all of them.
Take turns in doing the exercises to benefit from monitoring each other's progress, comment and take time to make conclusions.

1) Watch the revision version of the video and repeat all the words after the narrator.
This way, you practice language structures and develop your speaking skills.

2) Repeat the interactive exercises.
The exercises are never the same, because every time you refresh the page, you get a different set of words to practice. The score at the end of each lesson helps you messure your progress.

3) Pass on to the Activity Book exercises
The activity book includes all the topics covered by the course and gives your children a great opportunity to practice their reading and writing skills. Furthermore, to focus on their listening skills as well, the activity book includes a large number of listening exercises.

4) Sing the song for extra practice and fun
Continue practicing with flashcards or activities you liked best in the first two sessions.
Here on our Blog you'll find many GAME SUGGESTIONS to play with the downloadable flashcards or create on your own.
Use this session to repeat the words that have been introduced in previous lessons and include them in the games, too.
